How to De-Stress yourself? Highly effective and easy steps !

12 quick and easy ways to destress yourself that is highly effective. Giving yourself a healing time is very important for the Mind and Body. You can follow these steps once in a while. Let start!

1. Essential Oils

Essential oils are mostly used in aromatherapy! It can also be alternative medicine to cure several issues. Essential Oils are naturally extracted and have good benefits for overall health and mind. Below are the different types of essential oils with its benefit:

  • Lavender: used to relieve stress & beat insomnia

  • Sandalwood: used to calm nerves and help in concentration

  • Bergamot: used to reduce stress and improve skin conditions like eczema

  • Rose: used to improve mood and reduce anxiety

  • Chamomile: used to improve mood and provides relaxation

  • Ylang-Ylang: used to treat headaches, nausea, and skin conditions

  • Tea Tree: used to fight infections, acne, and boost immunity

  • Jasmine: used to help with depression, childbirth, and libido

  • Lemon: used to aid digestion, mood, headaches, and more

You can use these in a diffuser or apply a bit on the neck or as per the condition.

2. Hot water soak

Bubble bathing is always relaxing but if you do not have a bathtub like me then you soak your feet in the hot tub by adding some value like Epsom salt, roses, or essential oils.

3. Hot Oil Massage

Who doesn't like a massage? But it is often difficult to get someone for you to do it. And the spas are expensive to afford in your case too, then give your scalp a hot oil massage for 5 mins. It is highly effective and being followed in Ayurveda since ages!

4. Hot shower & Herbal Tea Combination

Since we spoke about soaking feet on the hot tub, then what about a nice hot shower. In Japan, it is followed since ancient times that they finish up all the cleaning in the night/ evening and take a nice hot shower before sleep. Why so? To relieve their mind from the stress they had to go through while working all day!

You can change your shower experience again by adding a bit of essential oil or adding nice bathing products. Take your time while shower and let go of all your worries.

Having herbal tea is plus to de-stress yourself. Try choosing Chamomile tea before you sleep and apply a bit of lavender oil near your pillow. You will have nice de-stressed sleep!

So never sleep stressed out.

5. Make your living space minimalist and cozy

There are many ways you can decorate your living space but having it decluttered is important for a healthy mind. You can add some cozy lights in your house. Always make sure that your space has enough oxygen passing. Because less oxygen can make you feel fatigued. Keep it organized and Minimal. Following Minimalist has changed my life too in many ways and I feel much better and de-stressed.

6. Meditation

I am sorry if I sound repetitive like many others. But we speak about meditation because we understand the value of it. Many successful leaders have been following it.

The reason is, meditation helps you cluttering your mind and find the solutions to the difficult problems. You will notice the good changes in your life once you start it. But remember, Rome was not built in a day!

7. Reading Books

We are mostly stressed out because we are either exhausted with the work or stuck in issues or not able to manage things. And the major reason is time management! Self-Improvement books can help you come out of many situations and change your life completely. You can even learn "How to manage your time".

8. Dance & Excercise

If you enjoy some activity then you should definitely take out some time to dance or exercise! Activities like dance and exercise not only de-stress but also release the happy hormone which leads us to improve our mood. If you are facing anxiety then you must try it out. Manage your time and do some activity at least for 30 mins.

9. Stay Hydrated

Again this may sound the same old boring words. But staying hydrated keeps body and mind healthy. It keeps the brain active and helps fighting fatigue. You may also notice some glow on your face :) with lots of water intake. I will not stretch out with the other benefits of water.

10. PETS

I do not have a pet due to the space issue. If that is not your problem, then you can follow this unless you are allergic. I did have a pet in my home town, however, I may get a chance later. But I surely want to get a pet because they such a stress reliever.

11. Listen to the Music

Listen to your favorite track during stress but choose wisely. You may not want the stress to turn into depression because music is highly effective to change. So listen to some happy or aesthetic music or anything you like but NOT depressing.

12. Visit your Favourite places

I too have my fav spot where I visit every time I feel low or stressed out. This is also an effective way to give your brain a little Me time and relief. Your brain will eventually have time to think and de-clutter. You will have your own space to think and evaluate. So go ahead and spend a good time!
